Living
Owl Barn began life as an old cattle shed and, in 2009, was thoughtfully transformed into the spacious stone barn you see today. Tucked away at the very end of a no‑through road, it offers a true sense of seclusion and calm from the moment you arrive. Step inside and you are welcomed into a contemporary yet wonderfully cosy open‑plan living space, where a striking feature fireplace and a huge log burner create a warm heart to the barn.
Underfloor heating runs throughout, complemented by honey‑coloured wooden floors softened with scatter rugs that invite you to kick off your shoes and settle in. Soaring beams and exposed trusses give the barn its character and charm, particularly on the top floor where two enormous sofas provide plenty of room to stretch out and unwind. From here, the spectacular semi‑circular gallery looks down over the space below, offering a unique vantage point and a real sense of connection between the two levels.
Whether you’re gathering with friends for lively conversation, curling up with a book by the fire, or simply taking in the craftsmanship of the conversion, the living areas at Owl Barn have been designed to feel both generous and welcoming, a place where everyone can relax and feel at home.
Eating
The ground floor is almost entirely devoted to a spacious open‑plan kitchen and dining area, designed for cooking, chatting and spending time together. A large island unit sits at its heart, so the chef is never far from the conversation. The kitchen is fully equipped with a double oven, induction hob, Nespresso machine and dishwasher, making it easy to prepare everything from simple breakfasts to celebratory dinners.
An impressive dining table seats eleven comfortably, with plenty of space around it for children to play or guests to mingle with drinks in hand. Two additional sofas and a television create a cosy corner for anyone wanting a quiet moment with a book or a cup of tea, and practical touches like a washing machine and tumble dryer make longer stays a breeze.
Whether it’s a relaxed morning coffee or a lively evening meal, this welcoming space makes eating together a real pleasure.
